Originally from the UK and now based in Australia, Terry is the IBM Watson Health Leader for Asia Pacific, Japan and China. His particular area of focus is the use of cognitive technology and artificial intelligence in healthcare, helping to drive better outcomes for
patients and citizens.

Terry is recognised as a global thought leader in the health and human services industry, with over 17 years industry experience. Terry has held a number of global senior strategic health and social welfare positions in both private and public sectors.

Terry was the UK Government Senior Advisor on social policy and digital strategy, leading the transformation of service delivery and technology adoption. He also headed up a social policy research global think tank, providing health and human services thought leadership.

Terry is a former Director of the social health and human services technology start-up, Cúram Software. Based in Ireland, Cúram’s global presence and market leadership led to IBM acquiring the company in 2011.

Terry holds a Ph.D. in Economics from Cambridge University, a first class honors degree in Economics also from Cambridge University, and a Masters of Science in Business Information Technology from Newcastle University. Her Majesty the Queen honoured Terry with the Most Distinguished Order of St. Michael and St. George (CMG), for his service overseas in relation to his role with British Intelligence.
